"This is one of the most talented teams ever to serve the United States and in the United States government... America is safer and stronger and far more successful than it was two years ago." - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸
We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. Very brave, he deserves it! President DONALD J. TRUMP
🚨 BREAKING FROM CAPITOL HILL 🚨
Yesterday, July 23, 2026, U.S. Congressman John James (R-Michigan) stood on the floor of the House of Representatives and did something rare — he called Nigeria out by name and put Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s name in the official record of the United States Congress.
While speaking about the ongoing slaughter of Christians in Nigeria — tens of thousands killed since 2019 by Islamist militants with little accountability — Rep. James connected the dots. He pointed to the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a clear example of political repression and the collapse of the rule of law.
He reminded his colleagues that a Nigerian Court of Appeal had previously ordered Kanu’s release, that the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has called for his unconditional freedom, and that the man remains locked away under a life sentence after what many describe as a deeply flawed process. James went further: he urged support for his resolution (H.Res. 1321) demanding due process… or better still, the immediate and unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
This is not just another speech. When a sitting member of the U.S. House stands on the floor of Congress and links the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to America’s own values and foreign aid policy, the world is watching.
The message is clear: you cannot claim to defend religious freedom and human rights while ignoring a high-profile case of prolonged detention that has drawn international concern.
Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
The world is paying attention.
