In rare cases IUD might fail and one conceives with it. And yes you can have a healthy baby with it. I’ve personally delivered a healghy baby with an IUD in situ. Although a pregnancy with an IUD has a higher risk of complications.

Now I don’t want you to start thinking that IUD is not an effective contraception method. Actually it is. IUDs are among the most effective forms of reversible contraception, with typical failure rates below 1% in the first year. 

While generally effective, factors like IUD expulsion (where the device is pushed out of the uterus) can contribute to failure. 

Copper IUDs are also highly effective as emergency contraception, with a very low pregnancy rate when inserted within a certain timeframe after unprotected intercourse.

Studies indicate that IUDs remain effective over longer periods, with many women continuing to use them for years. 

In summary, IUDs are effective reversible contraceptive method. They offer both long term contraception and can also be used for emmergency contraception.
