hating cats is rooted in misogyny. ironic how dogs are “man’s best friend” but women who love cats are “crazy cat ladies.” Cats teach consent, boundaries, autonomy and love that is earned not entitled.
@coulthard_chris@NOW Same here for both The Sopranos and The Wire. Absolutely appalling for people with hearing issues. It's been like this for weeks. Shouldn't be too difficult to fix, surely.
DO NOT POST IN REAL TIME
- Tag the restaurant when you leave.
Not while you're eating.
- The photo goes up after the flight.
Not from the seat.
- Show the hotel once you've already left. Not while you're sleeping there.
- Not everything has to be live.
Not everything needs an audience.
- The internet doesn't need to know where you are, who you're with, or what you're doing in real time.
- Protect your energy and what's still taking shape.
- Live first, post later. The moment is yours, only
how is it remotely sensible that someone can pass their test in a hatchback and then jump straight into a huge SUV with no extra training, LED headlights that blind everyone, and just abandon it wherever they like on the school run??
This is 100% social media's fault. Nobodies think they're celebrities and "real" celebrities fill our feeds with the most menial content with the aim of being relatable. I miss when celebrities seemed unobtainable. You only knew what they were doing from paps and interviews.
I don’t know if I just grew up or if celebrities got lamer and started acting like normal people LARPing as celebrities.
They technically have the wealth and the status, but they have absolutely no aura. Celebrities used to be a lot cooler.
Everything they do now is so unbearably forced and cringe.
You can tell they go into every interview or event with the mindset that it will go viral on social media. They are actively trying to farm “iconic” pop culture moments. It’s all impossible to watch without cringing because it’s so glaringly unnatural.
It literally feels like we don’t have any new celebrities that are naturally cool. None of them have aura, they all feel like glorified TikTokers lmao.
I finally watched this my hot take is we should’ve gatekept anime and video games more.
I miss when this shit was for weirdos who were ostracized for liking it. It felt more authentic. Now we have ppl who discovered yuyu hakusho in 2025 explaining anime to us.
Honestly I miss the time when people who were part of online communities were few and far between. Nobody you came across irl knew about Brian Peppers, ORLY Owl, Chocolate Rain, Hello my Future Girlfriend... and the world was better for it. We kept the Internet on the Internet.
Young people may not know this but there was a time when the internet had thousands of quirky, informative websites, when you could spend hours browsing and come away smarter rather than dumber. We have seen a wonderful thing destroyed in our lifetimes.
