Great news with the Eastern Phoebes! The babies are perching on the walls of the nest now, watching everything, still as statues. They are so tiny and cute. Right now they dream.

Yesterday I saw the cutest thing ever! Two possums on an overcast morning acting just like humans with so much concern and care for one another. They were so sweet. One was foraging and clearly snacking while the other stayed close by and monitored closely.

A few feet from the front door is a Phoebe nest. It's the cutest thing ever. The Phoebe babies have fledged and will come when spoken sweetly to.

So today squirrel was paying close attention to the place where there is a nest of baby birds. It's a birdhouse laying on it's side on top of a table. Mom has been caring for them weeks now. Babies were covered in adult feathers and fledged before the squirrel got the nerve.

Yesterday ears of fresh corn were 3 for a dollar at the store. I had to get some for the raccoons! The ears of corn promptly disappeared from the yard which means they were thoroughly enjoyed.

We have a plethora of mamas! Deer, raccoon, rabbits, possums and birds of all kinds.

With the doe and last year's baby raccoon, Mama was extra determined to hide that food bowl!

One doe stands on the peripherals of the yard. Last night she got really brave and wanted to try some canned corn but ended up eating low brush in the forest instead. This morning the raccoons bowl was missing which is a first. Mama raccoon has claimed the bowl as hers.
