AVID scholars took a day trip to YMCA Camp Hanes to experience the outdoor recreation of archery and wall climbing, learn about survival, collaborate on making a shelter, and lastly, build new friendships with team-building activities. It was an awesome day!!

Our 8th-grade students are getting immersed in Hispanic Heritage culture. In Ms. Binns' class, our virtuoso visual arts teacher, the students create amate art (Mexican folk art) using brown bags resembling amate bark paper. Stay tuned to see their complete art pieces.
