@brian_armstrong Similar to when smartphone screen resolution stopped being advertised.
When you hit “good enough” to complete most tasks, this is the best outcome - routing downstream to the model that just does the job.
@MattSStephens Agree and disagree. Life is suffering, regardless, but there is also profound beauty in life’s challenge. So pick your challenge.
I’d rather focus on trying to improve.
Suffering life via zero effort is a terrible type of suffering.
@notlouisck Not everything needs to run on Bitcoin, but once people understand that they CAN protect purchasing power with Bitcoin, it will start to gain critical mass. This will force governments issuing currency to respect their float (not print money) or they will depreciate into oblivion
@JoeyDevlin_ A rule that has always served well for me -
“If you really want a drink, don’t have one.”
If on occasion, in the right setting, you have one or two, you are still in control.
But if you “need” a drink, zero. Full stop.
With this vile attack on Rushdie we must face facts. We either stand for free speech or we do not.
There is no “Hate Speech”. There is no blasphemy. There are no “punchable faces”.
We have *free speech* outside of a few technical adjustments.
Don’t like it? Then *YOU* exit.
In a system where you have to continually print money to keep natural technology driven deflation in check, the system WILL collapse.
Either by revolution, as the elite class winds up with all of the printed money.
Or by a monetary competitor like #Bitcoin where people opt out.

@balajis It’s a much better outcome than having the state coordinate output. Individual Investors will collectively decide how to allocate our electricity, our time, and set our goals by investing in companies pursuing favoured ideas.
@balajis When we get to the point where most physical societal jobs are automated, having everyone be an investor is important. It’s a voting mechanism for a post consumption driven world, where we collectively decide which endeavours are meaningful for society by owning them directly.
