Thank you @MichaelGSantos for this powerful response 🙏
It is important to remember how unwelcoming the system was in the early days. Formerly incarcerated people were not supposed to return to prisons as speakers.
Yet today Michael is able to visit multiple federal prisons across the US. That progress is truly inspiring.
We are grateful to be part of something bigger than ourselves. The mission continues to grow, one prison at a time.
Real change happens when people do the work for themselves, consistently.
Keep sending your questions to us.
They help give more visibility to Prison Professors and let more people know about the mission.
This video responds to questions about how I began our relationship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Today I spent the day presenting inside of the high security prison, where I got an opportunity to share stories about the importance of using time inside to prepare outside.
During the presentation, I even took an opportunity to share about the amazing support we’ve received from the #BNB Web3 community that has been so supportive of our mission.
When the organizers deem it suitable to launch the live AMA sessions, we will begin regular interactive conversations. Tomorrow will be another trip to the prison, with a different group. Please send questions directly to the organizers: @PrisonProf_BNB.
Thank you for the detailed answer, Michael.
We now clearly understand why the prison tours are so fundamental to building the nonprofit and advancing real reform that incentivizes excellence.
Grateful for your leadership and for providing this clarity for the mission. 🙏
Organizers of the web3 community that supports our mission asked about the early growth of building our nonprofit. We strive to bring reforms that would incentivize the pursuit of excellence.
I filmed this video response to the question before I began my travels to PA. When the organizers deem it suitable to launch the live AMA sessions, perhaps we can have a more interactive conversation.
I’m grateful for the support, and will respond to any questions. Please send questions directly to the organizers: @PrisonProf_BNB.
@WCAJustinP thank you for posting this and for keeping Michael’s story and lessons alive. 🌟
That “slow and steady” mindset he taught you (and so many others) is exactly why we’re all here celebrating the $500k+ donated to Prison Professors.
We are long-term oriented.
Grateful for your friendship with @MichaelGSantos and for sharing the old footage.
I frequently share Michael’s books with friends (Earning Freedom) and his new one, Playbook. Some of them get really curious about our friendship: what is was like serving time with him, how he helped me. I will share more soon, like a series of lessons.
My friend, Lawrence, came across this youtube video of Michael and me from 13 years ago after Michael and I attended a conference at Stanford Law School.
Around this time, a mentor of Michael’s offered him a position in his company, a leadership role that would pay him a nice salary that could some day approach seven figures. A lot of people told him to take it.
I remember him telling me he had to stay committed to his mission, bringing attention to America’s prison system, fulfilling his mission of helping others understand what it means to “earn freedom.” He had already started teaching full time at San Francisco State. The income he could make that week or year was not as important as the impact he could have for decades.
When friends ask (they are literally asking me now, as we are in the desert this weekend for my son’s birthday) how he did it there are too many answers.
One is his ability to think week, months and years into the future. He used to ask me in prison, “based on what you did today, how will your life look different in a year?” I struggled to answer as I was focused on today, “I lost my career, licenses, reputation, I cannot focus on that right now.”
Then I would see how that thinking impacted others leaving prison. They had no plan and were simply moving into a new prison in their community. I was next.
So a big lesson he taught me, as I just told my friends, was slow and steady wins the race. In fact he wrote in Lessons From Prison, a book I hired him to write for me.
“As shown in the legendary race between the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady always won the race. Those who constantly worked to reach their highest potential, and remained true to a core set of values, never fell off course. The key to success came through an understanding of values in life, and staying relentless in a commitment to add value through daily pursuit of incremental goals.
He handwrote that from prison in December 2008.
The people who succeed in prison and life follow this same path. Slow, deliberately, one day a time. You see people in prison doing that everyday through the content they produce on their public profile at Prison Professors.
Anyways, wanted to share this video. I look forward to sharing more lessons with hopes they help others as they helped me overcome my time in prison.
Have a great Sunday!
Justin
Proud of what the $PP community has built together 🙌
Over $500k raised to deliver free education and hope to people in prison. 🌟
This is Web3 doing real good.
Thank you @MichaelGSantos & everyone who’s been part of the community!

@binance Our nonprofit is the beneficiary of this type of web3 technology. One group came together to build support for our mission to offer free educational resources to people in prison. The https://t.co/Msr2xA9HiY community raised more than $500k to support our nonprofit's mission.
Check out Michael's video where he answers the question:
"Can you walk us through the main barriers and challenges you faced when you first set up Prison Professors?" 🚧
Video 2: Response to questions of obstacles for setting up our nonprofit. I look forward to responding to live AMA questions when the organizers are ready. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Even better, forward them directly to @PrisonProf_BNB, they’ll help direct me in the best order to reply to them.
We are happy to announce that Michael is very supportive and will be answering our community questions about the history and facts regarding Prison Professors. 📚
As we work together with the community to prepare for a live AMA session, we look forward to receive more questions.
We will save the most interesting ones for the live AMA.
Until then, leave all the answers you want to ask Michael, below in the comments or in DMs.
Today I am starting a series of video AMAs to share more about Prison Professors. The web3 community that supports our work has been requesting responses to questions. I am available to respond to questions on a regular basis, as frequently as requested.
I’m really looking forward to participating in the live AMA sessions that organizers are still preparing. When they’re ready, I’ll be more than happy to join and respond to any questions from the community.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Even better, forward them directly to @PrisonProf_BNB. They’ll direct me in the best order to reply to them.
Over $500,000 donated to @MichaelGSantos’ Prison Professors 🌟
The #BNB community is incredibly proud, we’ve just crossed half a million dollars in real donations supporting this vital nonprofit mission!
Michael works tirelessly (and for free) to change lives through education and reentry support. Every dollar is making a real difference, and we’re honored to help power that impact.
Shoutout to Michael for his relentless dedication and to every single person in this community who made this possible. We’re proving what a united Web3 community can do for a meaningful cause.
Huge thanks to everyone building with us.
What an amazing milestone, can’t wait to see what we achieve together next!
Let’s keep pushing toward even bigger goals together!
We just pushed a small update to the Story page.📖✨
➡️ https://t.co/Avx6roIP8B
And Justin, we haven’t forgotten about you, this update includes a chapter about your support!
Support from outside Web3 is powerful, and seeing new faces join the mission helps expand the reach of both our Web3 community and Prison Professors’ work.
Thank you again for being part of $PP, for helping spread the mission of Prison Professors, and for sharing your experiences with @MichaelGSantos.
We will keep building. #BNB
We’ve just launched the new “The Story” tab on our website! 🛠
➡️ https://t.co/BSoXrjXm9V
✅ Now you can clearly see why this community exists and explore Michael Santos’ important contributions to CZ’s memoir, Freedom of Money.
Everything is beautifully laid out on a timeline (and we’ll keep updating it, there’s still more to come!).
✅ We’ve also added the donation goal bar to the homepage.
A big thank you to @MichaelGSantos for all his continued support, we truly appreciate it.
The site will be updated regularly, so stay tuned.
Follow us on X to stay in the loop, and feel free to share any feedback or suggestions!
Build N Build! #BNB
Following Michael's post about not needing to use the $PP donations until 2027 at the earliest:
We want to publicly commit to a donation goal of $12 million for the $PP community on BNB, which would be separate from the non-profit goals. 🎯
As you can all check on the official website: https://t.co/MODGwTUMkb
$6 million provides two years of reserves.
We want to commit to funding at least four years.
$12 million might sound unrealistic at first, but what $Giggle has achieved on #BNB Chain in only 9 months, shows us what is possible when a passionate Web3 community rallies behind a meaningful cause.
We celebrate their success and see it as inspiration — proof that ambitious goals can have real-world impact. That same spirit motivates us to set a bold goal for Prison Professors, fully aligned with the long-term vision Michael has shared.
We would love it if @MichaelGSantos were to support our ambitious initiative. Community, please let him know your thoughts!
By no means is this meant to distract Michael. This is a community goal only, and we fully support him continuing to focus on the mission as he always has.
We will also add a donation goal bar to our official website so everyone can track the progress visually.
We hope this gets the whole community excited about another clear, tangible goal because as he said, we are only getting started!
In the meantime, we encourage everyone to keep building!
MAJOR NEWS!🌟
✅Binance Academy Courses launched by Michael! 👇
https://t.co/Kc1PJAjHIK
✅CZ agreed on a video interview with Michael about Prison Professors! Date pending!
We can't wait to see it.
Until then, we will keep building with the community🔨
#BNB
We have launched a beta version of the Binance Academy courses on Prison Professors today. Our team needs to rebuild the main navigation bar, and we intend to finish by early next week.
As promised, I have reached out to CZ to request a video interview that we can share with the Prison Professors community, but I do not yet have confirmation on a date. Those who have read Freedom of Money know that CZ values time, and I am always respectful of his time and many commitments, grateful for the support he has given to our mission at Prison Professors.
Those who would like to review our course, please see the following:

This is just the start and we will keep building.
Amazing news from Michael! 🌟
We are always grateful and appreciative whenever Michael talks about our community.
Our goal stays the same:
Whoever in Web3 wants to get behind and support Prison Professors can buy some $PP and be a proud holder of the movement.
This is the beauty of Web3 — from anywhere around the world, you can join and partake in changing lives and the world (help end intergenerational cycles of recidivism and poverty).
Help build the community, spread awareness and never stop building.
Our ambitious goal is to help Prison Professors set the standard and inspire the rest of the world (Europe, Asia, etc).
We have full trust in Michael to succeed on the mission.
Briefly:
☑️ Michael is actively looking for more people who would want to support the mission (business organizations and individuals) and the key term is always long-term.
☑️ He will not tap into $PP donations until a set goal. While he is doing his part, we will do ours and keep the donations growing.
☑️ New consumer-brand idea: hydrogen-infused water sold in supermarkets and beyond. 100% of profits (after costs) will support the Prison Professors mission.

Before the end of this month, Prison Professors will introduce Crypto education!📚
Thanks to a collaboration with @BinanceAcademy and the support of @cz_binance.
Just as @MichaelGSantos learned about the Internet while in prison through books, people in prison will now gain real awareness of future technology: blockchain, crypto, and Web3.

What started as a mission-driven movement around education, rehabilitation, and second chances now has an official community website — a central place for our vision, updates, resources, and the growing impact being created through $PP and the #BNB community.
This is more than a meme coin.
It is a transparent, community-powered movement supporting real-world educational initiatives and helping expand awareness around prison reform and self-improvement.
Over $450,000+ has already been contributed toward the mission, and we are only getting started.
