@rangerdangerszn@dmn_rangers@Evan_P_Grant Fenstermaker’s was hired by JD in about 2010, part of scouting and later was director of pro scouting 2018-2022. With their terrible draft and develop record 2012-2022 I don’t understand why he was promoted. His record certainly didn’t deserve it.
@rangerdangerszn@dmn_rangers@Evan_P_Grant Did not fully overhaul farm system, kept the leaders Fenstermaker and Fagg. Perhaps some improvement 2023 forward draft/develop record, but no evidence yet of a pipeline of pitching prospects or top level position players ready for majors. Need to develop more talent internally.
@Rangers__Nation Nothing to sell that anyone wants, besides Rangers are very poor at evaluating talent in trades, wouldn’t trust Fenstermaker and Fagg to do anything. Start cleaning house by getting rid of those two.
@Evan_P_Grant Evan, why is Kip Fagg still a Ranger. He’s responsible for scouting while the Rangers have done a terrible job of drafting and developing new players, especially pitchers. The housecleaning started with dumping JD needs to be completed with getting rid of Kip and Fenstermaker.
@MrBaseball2374 In disagree about being cheap, payroll is about at the median of all teams. Their personnel decisions this year were terrible. But the long term problem is poor draft and develop history. Inability to identify talent has lead to a terrible minor league pipeline.
@McFarland_Shawn I wonder if the Rangers players are over coached about swinging at too many balls outside the strike zone, so much so that they often don’t swing at some pitches that end up in the zone.
@JSTXRangers Rangers have basically no one in the farm system to trade, besides they are not 1 or 2 pieces from being a good playoff team. If anything they should be a seller, if there is anyone another team would want.
@disasterfilm New Goldman Sachs building is reported to cost $709 M for 800,000 sq ft. A new City Hall should need only only maybe 500,000 sq ft, so cost should be under $500 M. I am an engineer but no experience in office buildings. Of course the building design could get out of control.
@nathan_sass@Nomadhidinghere@MLBPA And I think 60% under $1 M per year. But mlbpa 8 player executive committee has no one making under that amount, ranging from $1.25 M to $32 M. So even when owners offer something to attract the lower paid players, their voice is not really heard.
@rock_climber02 The Dodgers are great at draft and develop, but also spend big to keep those players and sign FAs to supplement the roster. Some smaller teams are also great at drafting and developing, but don’t have money to keep all of those players or sigh FAs. Cap will help address this.
@Evan_P_Grant Carter can’t be optioned without his approval, Osuna can. I agree something needs done with Carter. Can’t carry his poor hitting on 26 man roster. Needs to have some sort of injury.
@Nomadhidinghere I like the general ideas you put out here, would include a higher minimum salary and maybe even expansion to be included. The problem I see is the MLBPA is controlled by higher paid players and their agents who don’t represent the players making the minimum very well.
