One thing that really helped me was when I stopped trying to catch breakouts and started focusing on pullbacks and support pivots. Learning to remain patient and letting it come to you is a superpower.
Controlling the size of losses allows everything else to fall into place.
What separates consistent traders and investors from everyone else is the ability to realize when they’re wrong quickly and move on.
Small losses are like business expenses.
They’re part of the cost of trading, they’re normal and don’t mean you’re a bad trader. Every great trader you look up to takes losses.
It’s easy to hold, pray, and hope a position eventually comes back, but what if you just cut the position quickly and didn’t have to stress or pray or hope? You’d have two things, one being your sanity and the other the capital to put into a new trade.
Mastering the art of cutting losses before they get big means the chances of success go up exponentially.
Pullback buys are the best if you buy right.
- Into key moving averages
- Key support + resistance level
Don’t just buy dips to buy dips.
Make sure the dip you’re buying aligns with something technically on the chart or you’re just buying in no man’s land.
If and when I get to 20k followers, I’ll bless someone with $1,000.
All you have to do is like and retweet this. (Have to be following me)
It’ll take awhile, but whenever it happens, I really want to bless someone.
@jtrader Every rule you break turns into a habit you’ll have to unlearn later.
Discipline isn’t built on big wins — it’s built on the rules you don’t break when nobody’s watching.
Your stops aren't too tight. Your nervous system is. Every small drawdown feels like a threat, so you bail before the trade has room to breathe. You're not managing risk—you're managing anxiety. And anxiety always wants OUT.
Emotions are the biggest enemy you'll face in trading. If you can control your emotions, you can control your trading. Take breaks after wins and losses. Only trade when you are emotionally level and prepared to follow your system exactly as planned. Have a great finish to the week 📈
