Procedural Level

Dropt is coming to Steam
2 is already there

Does it make sense to keep making new entries in a puzzle game series?
Hypothetical Voxelgram 3, but with more polish, more puzzles, and maybe a built-in level editor?

What if you could have all scripts related to a feature in a single project, even if they live in different assemblies?

Few hacky lines of code later to edit solution generated by #Unity3D, and it seems to be working. Although, it is a bit janky.

Sometimes I just want to randomly mash my keyboard without thinking. Silly prototype to fulfill that need.

Dropt is finally out. It's here. A mix of Match-3 and Tetris.
Is it what I hoped it would be? Probably not.
Is it fun for a few minutes when you're bored? Probably yes.

Recently, Voxelgram 2 passed 100 reviews on Steam. Today, 10 months after release, it reached 5000 units sold! That's a great outcome for a #SoloGameDev. It's also 50% off during the #SteamSummerSale!

100 reviews for Voxelgram 2! With a pretty good positive to negative ratio. A great milestone for a solo developer.

What's that? A sale? Voxelgram 1&2 are 50% off on Switch for the next week!

Unfortunately, @itchio is overrun by slop. The assets are slop, the tools are 'vibecoded'. It's an endless stream of spam which takes away visibility from great human-made creations. It's honestly just a sad state, anything you can do - itch?

[Procedural Level @ProceduralLevel]

Making an engine from scratch isn’t the most efficient way to build games, but getting features like asset and shader hot-reloading working is incredibly satisfying.

Out of all NextFest demos I've tried so far, I like Tiling Forest the most. And Wanderburg. Now back to the discovery queue.

I'm probably overengineering this. I've introduced simple genetic algorithm into my game bot, with a goal of hopefully finding most broken/fun builds. And to see how the game balance changes with each new item/upgrade.

I was wondering how bad a 100% random-move tactic would be in Dropt, so I made a simple bot to play the game for me.
The answer: it’s a really bad tactic.
But at least now I can build on it and run some automated tests in the future.

For my third game, I’m making a roguelite match-3 puzzle game about dropping blocks into a well called Dropt.

I'm creating my next game with just C#+https://t.co/DNzehFWYZ3 for OpenGL bindings instead of Unity and it takes so much less time to iterate on features. Mostly thanks to hotreloading of code that's pretty much instant. #gamedev
