#sapsHQ [PUBLIC CAUTION: SAPS HAS NOT ISSUED ANY IDENTIKIT ON EKURHULENI MURDERS]

The South African Police Service (SAPS) urges members of the public not to circulate or share photographs of persons alleged to be linked to the murders of women in the area.

SAPS has not issued any identikit, wanted poster or photograph of a suspect or suspects in connection with these cases.

Members of the public are cautioned against sharing unverified information, as this could result in innocent people being wrongly identified, harassed or targeted.

#SAPS will communicate officially should any suspect be positively identified and should the public’s assistance be required.

SAPS assures the public that it is seized with these cases and is following every lead that may assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding the murders and identifying those responsible.

Communities are urged to rely only on information issued through official SAPS communication channels and to report any information that may assist the investigation to the police.

#sapsGP [NINTH BODY RECOVERED IN DAWNPARK, EKURHULENI DISTRICT]

Another body of a woman has been discovered in Dawn Park. The incident will be added to the investigations into the deaths of women in Ekurhuleni.

The unidentified body was discovered earlier this morning, 17 September 2026. This brings the total number of bodies discovered to nine in two months.

A multidisciplinary team of experts has already been mobilised to work on the cases and ensure that those responsible for these crimes are brought before the court.

The police appeal to community members to share any information that may have to assist with the investigations on the #CrimeStop Line at 08600 10111 or provide anonymous tip-offs on #MySAPSApp which can be downloaded on any smartphone. All information received will be treated with the strictest confidence.

The Executive Mayor of @City_Ekurhuleni Alderman Xhakaza has convened a prayer / memorial service in honour of the two women whose bodies were discovered during the course of these past few days. The third woman has since been identified while six more are yet to be identified.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirms the dismissal of Major General Feroz Khan from the Service.

Major General Khan was deemed dismissed in terms of Regulation 9(7)(b) of the SAPS Discipline Regulations, following his failure to appear before the designated senior officer responsible for dealing with the expeditious disciplinary process.

SAPS reiterates its commitment to accountability, discipline and professional conduct within the organisation. No member, regardless of rank or position, is above the law or the applicable disciplinary framework.

As the matter has been the subject of legal proceedings, SAPS will continue to respect and abide by the decisions of the courts and provide further information where legally permissible. NP
