We believe that QMUL should not adopt the new government definition of anti-Muslim hostility, and that it should cease using the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
To summarise Alice's work here: posh white humanities students are more likely than other students to think mixed-sex, trans-inclusive changing rooms are a good idea.
For clarity, that means other students favour single-sex spaces (as most people do, according to polls)
127 MPs have signed EDM 240 opposing the recent @EHRC guidance.
It's really helpful having an easily accessible list of MPs openly admitting they support men having access to women-only spaces.
Hopefully voters in each of their constituencies will take careful note.

@NigelBiggar concluded his talk at @ucddublin by emphasising two intellectual virtues: temperance - the willingness to attend carefully to what others say, and courage - the need to speak up for what you believe is true. Thanks to @timcrowley_ and @DubUnisAFAF for organising.

Encouraging candidates to protect the environment is fine. Pushing a specific & highly contentious policy like net zero is not.
@catholicEW should rethink as should whoever was advising them.
...
…
Ironically, given net zero policies are particularly bad for public finances, they put at risk other policy priorities the Bishops such as improving health care & widening access to palliative care.
...
…
But there are actually strong arguments that net zero policies:
· Cause poverty both in the UK & in developing countries
· Cause serious environmental problems
· Are disastrous for public finances
…
Why are the English & Welsh Catholic Bishops @catholicEW encouraging Welsh voters to vote for candidates supporting net zero?
At best this is an issue on which Catholic of goodwill can disagree & to be left to prudential judgement.
