Duolingo is helpful for vocabulary building. It has helped me get a feel for correct sentence structure in German.

BUT! If you really want to learn a language, you HAVE to interact with other humans. Duolingo (or any other language-learning software) is just a tool.

Shortly before the pandemic began, I started studying German on Duolingo. When the world shut down, I decided to challenge myself to make it to 100 days. Here we are, 3 years later…

And to address the question, “Do you recommend Duolingo?” My answer is:

It’s a great tool. You can’t fully learn a language with it. But as one aspect of your language-learning journey, it definitely has its benefits.
