The danger of this is real - education is important to teach critical thinking skills, analytical skills, communication skills, etc. that young people need not just for the workplace, but also to be good citizens in our democracy. Men are increasingly not developing these skills!

There is already a growing movement, particularly on social media and very much focused on boys and men, that insists that education does not matter. If we have also built systemic inequalities negatively impacting boys in the classroom, of course we are going to lose them.

Surprise surprise. This had to happen eventually. Cost of living is higher than ever in Canada, yet people aren’t visibly cutting back in any meaningful way. Consumer debt sloshing around in our economy has to be massive. Insolvencies will only grow.

@gill_godwin Newsweek is just tabloid journalism now. They posted 5 anti-Canada hit pieces on our men’s hockey and curling teams versus just two stories about the U.S. winning gold. And four of the Canadian hit pieces were posted before they even commented on the U.S. team at all.
