"It’s fair to call this a super El Niño." 🌬️
The global weather pattern caused by the release of heat from the Pacific Ocean is set to return in the coming months, with UK temperatures potentially reaching 40C in 2027, @ProfMarkMaslin tells @thetimes.

Collapse of ecosystems around world is serious national security concern for UK, threatening peace, stability, food supply, leading to conflict + social/economic disaster. So say UK spy chiefs. Why no response from highest levels of govt? Podcast here https://t.co/jVT3JzLV2w
Climate change is already a public health emergency.
A new report by UNU-INWEH scientist & colleagues highlights how health-centred climate policies can strengthen Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Earth’s heat to produce electricity for over 10,000 homes in UK - a renewable energy first ⚡️⚡️⚡️
The United Downs power plant, near Truro in Cornwall, becomes the first power plant in the UK to generate electricity from the Earth's heat. https://t.co/1pzZlanR34

These results show once again that clean power is the right choice, with new onshore wind and solar 50% cheaper than building and running new gas.
By backing renewables at scale, we’re lowering bills and taking back control of our energy security.

Understanding the impacts of #climatechange that increase with global temperature rise
Major impacts include sea level rise, extreme weather events, food and water shortages and spread of infectious diseases
Denial is not an option - this shit is real

UNU-INWEH scientists and colleagues, underscore evidence in the 2025 Lancet Countdown that climate change is destabilising the environmental systems on which human health depends.

This is seismic.
When the Telegraph - the house paper of Brexit - publishes a 2,000-word obituary admitting:
📉 Brexit has cut UK GDP by up to 8%
📉 Investment down 18%
📉 Productivity down 4%
📉 Employment down 4%
📉 No trade benefits
📉 No regulatory freedom
📉 No immigration control
📉 No growth
…it’s over.
This isn’t Remainers talking.
This is the Telegraph saying Brexit has been an unmitigated economic failure.
The numbers are now so bad, so undeniable, that even the architects of the project can’t keep pretending.
Brexit wasn’t a reset.
It wasn’t sovereignty.
It wasn’t taking back control.
It was a slow economic strangulation: a textbook case of national self-harm, dragging investment, wages, growth and confidence down with it.
We can’t build a future on a foundation of lies.
Time to repair the damage.
Time to rejoin the single market.
Time to put the country first.
“If we don’t have deep, rapid and fair decarbonisation of modern society, we’ll have a revolutionary style change that will be both chaotic and violent”: science warning to MPs. By @damiengayle and me https://t.co/geKek2avp4

Cop30: five reasons the UN climate conference failed to deliver on its ‘people’s summit’ promise
Our leaders keep stating that time is running out, but negotiations remain stuck in never ending circles of delays all because of Saudi, India and USA.

My message to ministers and negotiators here at #COP30:
Engage in good faith to reach an ambitious compromise.
1.5°C must be your only red line.
Be bold.
Follow the science.
Put people above profit.
This is the hour for leadership.
Hi, actual scientist here 👋
Science doesn’t work by proving a negative.
You don’t prove unicorns don’t exist.
You look for evidence they do and if none shows up, you move on.
And here’s what we’ve found after decades of research:
Millions of children.
Dozens of studies.
Multiple countries.
Same result every time:
No causal link between vaccines and autism
That’s not uncertainty.
That’s overwhelming evidence.
Saying “well you can’t rule it out completely” isn’t science.
It’s appeal to ignorance - pretending “not disproven” is the same as “possible.”
If we accepted that logic, we’d have to fear:
🧪 Organic broccoli causing autism
📺 Television causing autism.
🌦 Clouds causing autism.
Because nobody has “ruled them out” either.
Science isn’t about imagining risks.
It’s about measuring them and vaccines have been measured more than almost anything else in medicine.
So let’s be clear:
💉 Vaccines have evidence.
❌ The autism claim has none.
