In his remarks, the Principal @ProfMuhwezi described the leadership handover as a significant milestone that underscores good governance, accountability, and continuity. He commended Dr. Timothy Esemu for his dedicated service, transparent leadership, and invaluable contribution to the growth and transformation of MUBS.
Congratulating Prof. Ahmed Walugembe on his appointment, the Principal urged him to provide strategic and visionary leadership, build on the strong foundation laid by his predecessors, and steer the Faculty towards greater excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
At the @MUBASA_Official leadership handover, the Principal, @ProfMuhwezi , reaffirmed Management’s commitment to improving staff welfare, noting that several staff promotions have already been effected, with many more in the pipeline.
He pledged his full support to the incoming leadership and challenged MUBASA to expand its role in grant writing, and grants management, with a target of securing at least 50 grants this year to support research and institutional growth.
Prof. Muhwezi also commended Dr. Wilson Tusiime for his dedicated leadership and urged the new team to build on the progress made, emphasizing that no leader accomplishes everything in one term and that every contribution made is worth celebrating.

He encouraged staff to work with integrity, build trust, and add value to the institution through commitment and hard work.
The Principal noted that MUBS has become a hub of knowledge, experience, and professional growth for many over the years, and challenged staff to make the most of the opportunities the institution provides. He also called on employees to remain connected to their grassroots communities and use the knowledge and skills acquired at MUBS to positively impact society.

Hajjat Alinda joined the then National College of Business Studies (NCBS) in 1988 and rose through the ranks with unwavering commitment, integrity, and professionalism. Since 2017, she has served as Deputy Bursar, making significant contributions to the School’s financial management and institutional growth.

Today, I joined the @OfficialMubs Muslim Community, to celebrate the remarkable legacy and bid farewell to Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa who has faithfully served our great institution for over 20 years as the school Imam.
His unwavering commitment to faith, humility, integrity, and service has strengthened our community, nurtured generations of students and staff, and fostered unity, peace, and moral leadership at MUBS. We are deeply grateful for his invaluable contribution and pray for abundant blessings, and success in the next chapter of his service.

Today, I hosted a delegation from @ugandacanberra , Australia, led by Ms. Tiisa Mugwanya, Head of Tourism and Culture, to explore opportunities for collaboration in tourism promotion, research, exchange programmes, and a prospective Memorandum of Understanding between our institutions.
Our discussions focused on advancing internationalization, strengthening Uganda’s tourism sector, and expanding global opportunities for students and staff.
Such partnerships are intended to expose our students to international experiences, research opportunities, and diverse perspectives, equipping them with the practical skills and global outlook needed to thrive in today’s dynamic world.
