The REWA project plans to investigate the development and implementation of sustainable and cost-effective technologies for the removal of aquatic pollutants.
The pilot-scale removal of pharmaceuticals from municipal wastewater effluent in Oulu-Finland was successful.
Today at the UniOuluScienceDay event in UniOulu, Mahdiyeh presented the research poster of the pilot-scale study.

What are the tasks of a transfer project? And what experiences did the #AquaticPollutants ERANet-Cofund make with the transfer project?
During their presentation at the Midterm Meeting, AquaticPollutants TransNet and Projektträger Karlsruhe answered these and other questions.
In the @ProjectRewa PhD student, Mahdiyeh has traveled to @UCPH to test how microbes might affect the adsorption of CECs and develop a protocol for testing magnetite-pine bark in the upcoming pilot study together with Kristian, Simon, and Mia.

Did you know that metals and other environmental contanimants can co-select for antibiotic resistance?
Disturbingly, a substantial number of reports suggest that metal contamination in the environment can select for antibiotic resistance without the presence of antibiotics!
