Twenty more ghost pots removed from Eastern LIS. Three tautog released, and some of our grappling hooks that needed to be reshaped after hooking something very heavy!
Amazing catch in today's trawl! A female roughtail stingray (Dasyatis centroura). She measured 133 cm across and weighed close to 200 lbs. First such specimen in my 20 years of bio sampling Long Island Sound.

This sampler platter of bycatch was collected by our Soundkeeper crew during Wednesday's outing of the Lobster Trap Removal and Assessment Partnership we're working on w/@maritimeaqua@proj_oceanology. 35 more ghost traps were hauled in.
