I always loved being independent, one of the reasons why I started working in my final year. The moment I finished writing my final exams in September last year, I moved to my own place. Oh, how excited I was!
THREAD!
Moving out your parents house so early is a huge financial mistake.
If your parents are financially stable n fine with you staying for extra years. Please do.
You could easily stack enough savings if you have a decent job.
And that capital opens up many opportunities for you.
Otherwise, you may start searching for undesirable sources of extra income (I had started thinking of how to rob Stanbic bank😅).
Staying at home doesn't make you a failure! Stay as long as you can after school, plan and have everything figured out before choosing independence.
Let's learn to be patient and accept help. You can't do it all on your own, especially not as fast as you want to. We all have goals and dreams, to rent a beautiful apartment or build a house, buy a good car, generally live a good life. But take your time, one step at a time!
I'm an environment enthusiast. I would love to see change with green energy being adopted across the globe, especially in Africa. But also, I love being realistic!
So many environmental activists, especially those in large economies are protesting against the EACOP.

And when our economies have grown and we can afford to fund innovation of sustainable alternatives, we shall save our environment. Don't worry, it's not going to be too late.

I could go on and on but I'm limited by space and time. So, East Africans, to wind it up, the EACOP will not kill us. We shall adopt and find ways to mitigate the adverse impacts, just like the bigger economies have for thousands of years.
