@SouthernRailUK just to say, the OBS in 1H18, 10:18 LBG-LIT is an absolute superstar. I’ve had a mare and lost my wallet and she’s been both helpful and compassionate. An absolute credit and she deserves some praise for a job well done and being a throughly decent person :-)
Still can’t quite believe I’ve been shortlisted for an award at @wr_awards this year. It’s going to be an incredible night to be surrounded by such inspirational women from the greatest industry there could be.
I had a lot of fun helping to make this. I’ve long said the railway is a special industry and it’s given me so much. You can’t be what you can’t see though, so I’m always more than happy to try and represent, and hopefully help inspire.
Ahead of International Women’s Day tomorrow, we spoke to one of our Train Managers Helen Gander.
We’re so proud of all the women who work at GBRf across the country and around the clock. Here’s Helen’s story and her thoughts on #IWD25.

@deedee10780561 You’ll make me blush. You’re so very kind.
There’s a lot more of us these days than there was eh. I love it. Room for more too. Hopefully we can inspire the next generation of amazing women railway staff.
@shellienic Thank you! That’s kind of you to say.
The tide is turning and I love seeing all the women coming into the industry now. Before I left my old TOC there were so many compared to when I started. How is it where you are?
@klm2407 Yaasss. Im coming into summer roster so there’s loads of days off so I’m sure I can make it work. Will see if I can drag Steve B along too as long as it’s not in brighton as he has a hatred for the place now 😂😂😂
