@DerekPederson3 yeah it's fiction, of course it doesn't conform with reality. In good science fiction the aliens usually (though obviously not universally) aren't the point
@GoyEmpanada Evolutionary or socially better in the sense that it makes a society and the species at large more numerous, not that these social structures were better in the modern social sense
@GoyEmpanada Too many people associate what is evolutionary or socially better with what is personally better. It's good that you made this point, I see it far too often when people talk about early human history and agricultural societies largely replacing hunter-gathering
@big__dog72 I don't believe you guys, none of my friends said this happened to them when they saw the movie. I don't know anything about this movie other than something about granting a wish and people supposedly laughing
@CacklingPumpkns It shows that Tumblr, while terrible, was an environmentally necessary ecosystem that kept these people focused together in one place instead of spread out everywhere, and social media at large continues to suffer from its absence
@3DGlyptics I got so excited upon seeing this that I yelled this in the movie theater and they got mad and kicked me out. Why did you do this to me phenomenon alien?
@LoudmouthR easiest way to make this from stupid to cool would be something like an ancient sith or something made this by predicting the future and made a map that survived for generations until the heros found it. That's way cooler than "oh yeah we made it like 20 years back"
