Annual Analysis – Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan (2025)
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan expresses extreme concern at the sharp rise in enforced disappearances in Balochistan. In 2025, 1,455 cases were documented.
The documented cases include 1,443 men and 12 women. Of the total cases, 1,052 individuals remain missing, 317 were released, 83 were killed in custody, and 3 were transferred to jail.
Compared to the previous year, the number of cases shows a 75% increase, showing a clear deterioration of the human rights situation in Balochistan.
Enforced disappearances carried out by Pakistan in Balochistan constitute serious violations of constitutional guarantees and international human rights obligations, including the right to life, liberty and security of person, and freedom from arbitrary arrest and detention.
This is a preliminary report. Figures may change as more unreported cases are documented. The full report will be released later.
