@naveenfrizvi Interesting generalisation. Yes pupils should be working in lessons however purposeful talk should form part of that process and we as teachers should be facilitators to this not seen as the fountain of all knowledge and pupils as blank slates.
An interesting read to reflect on how we can make a subtle change to practice so talk between partners is effective. Perhaps talk will be given higher status in mathematics classrooms as a result.
Really enjoyed reading this blog and am really looking forward to this mini series. We’ll worth a read for teachers and senior leaders to consider how best to impact on pupils chances!
