@cmclymer My favorite part is that he wrote, “Now more than ever the world needs a credible, trusted, independent voice…” in an article to try to explain why he stepped in and stopped them from independently publishing an endorsement.
@chrislhayes Question - since X and Tesla are under the same holding company (X Holdings), wouldn’t the judge have to recuse because there is a monetary connection (albeit a weak one)?
NEW: Alabama is farming out incarcerated people to work at hundreds of companies, including McDonald’s & Wendy’s.
The state takes 40% of wages and often denies parole to keep people as cheap labor.
Getting written up can lead to solitary confinement. This is modern day slavery.
@Scott_Maxwell I’ve seen similar articles, but no one can explain to me where/how the Division of Elections is getting its interpretation that out of state felonies are treated differently than in state felonies when the FL Constitution does not make or allow for a distinction between the two?
@Scott_Maxwell Seeing articles stating that former President Trump has voted early. I know DeSantis and others have said that FL defers to the state in which a person was convicted if it was not a FL case, but the constitution doesn't appear to support this. What am I missing?
@D_Robinson9@WFTV But while it’s a small part of the state’s budget, it has an immense impact on the arts organizations in our state - a part of the economy that has shown a 9:1 return on state funding dollars, so its money well spent.
@D_Robinson9@WFTV Every other govorner to see has found ways to balance the budget without cutting all funding to the arts. The budget line was $32 million of an $116.5 billion budget - that’s just .03% of the total budget and surely the cost savings could have been found elsewhere.
Hi Marjorie! I’m Brigitte and I’m the queen in the clip. I’m born female and not a man. You are just proving that gender is socially constructed and have no idea what you’re talking about and why you should have no say in our lives.
In some jails a 25 minute video call can cost $10. And in-person visitations are forbidden.
Now the legal battle is on in Michigan.
@lesterholtnbc reports on one Sheriff’s change of heart on the policy.
@Scott_Maxwell $50 million and nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, the $32 million in arts and culture funding he cut would have done great things for Florida’s economy since arts organizations show a 9:1 return on state funding.
@washingtonpost “Retailers… have responded to consumer grumbling by reducing prices…, fearing they would… lose sales.”
You’re silent on the impact corporate greed had on inflation? The chains can cut prices because they inflated them so much. They’re making record profits & buying back stock
My favorite part of Kavanaugh’s opinion is when he talks about how Article III standing precludes issuing advisory opinions.
But the Court sure as hell issued an advisory opinion in 303 Creative v. Elenis and allowed business owners to broadly discriminate against LGBTQ in places of public accommodations base on a fake request for a wedding website to a person who doesn’t make wedding websites. That case still infuriates me.
This Court is so full of crap. https://t.co/4vpqLZRuSv
