@GreenTexanEV Those are beautiful.
I don't see any need for modern ICE cars. There are very few cool/fun ones under $60k-$100k that offer something an EV can't & the EV is just better to live with. Total automotive history has been incredible, take your pick from there if you want to have fun
@Hilbe I think they should perfect the process on the single shift first. There's plenty of time late this year with 2 shifts before running on weekends.
Tesla sprinted out of the gate & their reputation is still panel gaps & paint issues. Do you want that to be R2's reputation too?
@RivianTrackr I remember during the ramp of Model 3 & early Y Tesla used to rightfully call this out all the time, saying "most of our new customers are coming from cheaper Hondas & Toyotas and *stretching* to a better product." Which I believe will be true for R2 also.
@RivianTrackr I think it's worth a dedicated article of R2 vs Rav4. (CR-V & Tucson too)
The biggest problem is those are all $35k-$42k for their volume though PHEV Rav4/Tucson can go up to ~$52k. That's a huge gap for "gas savings" to overcome. R2 must be sold as "stepping up to a better car"
@spotted_model Hmm. At least we don't live in Florida, my uncle sold his C3 Corvette Stingray he's had for decades because he said it was over $4k per year.
@brandenflasch@TravisKetchum@RivianTrackr@Rivian Yep! Gen1 quad with powered tonneau. Canceling the current combo only indirectly affects me because that spec becomes more desirable, like the much more rare Launch Green with Ocean Coast during Gen1.
