@Solaraxq @Luntinar I understand, giving it some thought, I think it'd be great if Discord just gave us an option to choose to toggle these new changes on/off as we want in the settings as they're all visual anyway. customization is possible after-all community ran custom clients prove that much.
@TheNerd677 @Luntinar I like the rounded corners, and dark mode options, but the Chat Panel overlapping the server list just looks wrong IMO, having a toggle would be a solution that Discord can do, like community members have even if custom clients are against TOS. customization should be an option.
@ChromaCato @Luntinar to be fair, when using a client for so long, I think it's only fair to want it to look appealing to you, it's why despite them being a TOS violation custom discord clients exist, yet Discord won't implement a toggle for these new UI changes when community members have against TOS
@RDzisamistake@Luntinar IMO, I don't like the chat panel on the bottom left, it overlaps the server list, and breaks the UI cohesion, the fact we have no choice to fix that is what bugs me, Discord should implement more user customization to curb this I know some like it so that should work for everyone
@DogpackDEV @Luntinar I agree, but tbh they should be gradual, and allow some level of user choice whether to commit, or to customize which features they do/don't want going forward, this is why custom clients have a demand, even if they break TOS.
@__no_sleep__@Luntinar I think it's valid to criticize a mandatory change, when the only current solution to fix it, is to break Discords TOS by using a custom client. I'd much rather discord implement options to toggle these changes as they're all visual anyway. this way everyone get's what they want.
@MariBandoh74 @Luntinar I'm happy you like it, unfortunately not all do, a good compromise would be a setting that we can toggle the UI changes as all this is just visual. Unfortunately, Discord has chosen to not do this, and instead make doing so through unofficial clients a TOS violation, so yeah.
@GamesPlays25@Luntinar yeah, but be prepared if they happen to find out you're using a custom discord client, then your account will be in breach of TOS, even if that doesn't seem fair they won't care, this is why we need to speak out and get this company to actually listen to us for once
@BuritoFinder@Luntinar tbf it's good to discuss a design issue, especially when the only solution to fixing it is break the companies TOS, by using a custom discord client, not exactly rage bait if there's no other choice, but to get the company to actually listen to user feedback for once
@__notd__ @Luntinar Agreed, tbh I like the rounded corners too, but I just can't accept the Chat Panel on the bottom left it's by far the worst design choice I've ever seen, it shouldn't overlap the server list, IDC what they think it just looks bad.
@Synth2568@Luntinar Nah, unless you got an early access version of the UI, this has more rounded panels, choices for more themes, and a god awful Chat Panel that overlaps the server list, which IMO fundamentally breaks the UI cohesion we have all come to know on PC
@zozonix14@Luntinar Yes, although using custom discord clients is against TOS if they find out anyone uses that expect a ban even if it's a stupid choice, this is why we need to spark community backlash, because Discord is not giving us a choice officially, and blocking any other alternative option
@keirsisverydumb @Luntinar there's more rounded corners, options for new theme choices, and the most controversial choice being the absolute ugly design of having the chat panel overlap the server bar, which just breaks the cohesion between the server and the server list
@nigerundayo321@Luntinar unfortunately the only way to change it back is to use a custom discord launcher, which breaks their TOS, so "officially" you just can't unless they decide to listen to community feedback.
@B4NSOfficial @Luntinar I think the settings are fine, to be honest I'd like a way to switch between the old, and new call panel on the bottom left, as it stands now it's just unacceptable how bad it breaks the design cohesion between the server bar, and the server itself the two shouldn't be mixed
@canknotnot@Luntinar Mhm, tbh I like the dark mode, and the rounded corners, but I cannot settle on the call panel on the bottom left overlapping the server bar to me that's just bad design it breaks the cohesion between the server, and server list entirely.
@ishotheerror @Luntinar mainly the call panel on the bottom left, the fact it overlaps the server bar is what sets me off the most, it just breaks the desktop cohesion
@Solaraxq @Luntinar I think most like the feature, it's mainly IMO the call panel on the bottom left that's the most contentious feature, it makes the UI far more cluttered then it needs to be, and breaks into the server bars space which is terrible to see
