He was caught on video leading the push against the Senate Wing Door, crushing Canio Police with wooden barricades during the Jan 6 insurrection. He pleaded guilty to felony assault of a police officer.

On September 20, 2024, David Daniel was arrested again on federal charges that he manufactured and possessed child pornography with prepubescent girls.

He currently sits in jail pending trial in Mint City, North Carolina.
