6️⃣Six of the eight European standards underpinning the Digital Product Passport (DPP) have now passed the formal vote of national standardisation institutes, covering the foundations from unique identifiers and data carriers to APIs and system interoperability.

The two remaining standards tackle the most complex challenges:

➡️ Data authentication and integrity

Once finalised, the framework will be complete, making DPPs about supply chain transparency, resource resilience, and fair competition across the EU market. The EU DPP Registry goes live on 19 July 2026. But what is it, and what does your business need to know?

The EU DPP Registry is the European Commission's central repository for Digital Product Passports, holding the unique identifiers and secure links that prove each passport exists, is authentic, and is valid for the EU market.

Economic Operators remain responsible for the underlying data included in the DPPs, and a mandatory backup via an independent third-party provider.
