This is what no one wants to discuss! @AInfanteGreen & @PVDMayor are intentionally disregarding the negative impact on traditional public schools; that’s why charter schools have an inflated view of their own performance.
Do you find it odd that RIDE approves charter orgs. applications without a designated physical building to set up school? And then the charters circle PPSD schools like a vulture on a dead carcass. They have reversed the proper order of things. 🤔
Just-in: The House Oversight Committee has scheduled a hearing for Dec. 15. Topic? An update on Providence schools from RIDE Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green.
New: Providence School Board member Ty'Relle Stephens says he walked out of today's meeting, much of which is being held in executive session. Stephens says to board wants to talk to Joan Jackson (senior advisor to the supt.) about toxic workplace allegations + job performance.
Dear PPSD Community, @RIDeptEd and PPSD have made a decision to close a number of Prov Schools. They started the conversations in the fall- they have yet to inform @PTU958, parents, community and Ss! !They will hold mtgs btwn 12/12 and 12/22! Deliberate disrespect of families time
Please tell me this isn’t setting kids up to fail?!? Black and white text books asking about colors?!? C’mon, folks! How much more was the colored edition workbook? Is the savings worth it?!? @pvdschools Where is the color?
This Takeover is the largest fraud perpetuated on a city/state in the history of Takeovers in education… and that is saying a lot given what happened in Louisiana …Dr Domingo Morel warned everyone!
So the premise of “asking for community input” on ESSR spending doesn’t sit right when you turn the chat function off. This is another compliance ✔️- Micromanaging community input, stifling voice is @ppsd MO- no trust/no transparency-
At the Glocester School Committee meeting. Members in Exec. Session for an hour. Place is packed 90% not wearing masks.. no contact tracing. Children maskless! This is why we need a #MaskMandateinSchool. @RIDeptEd
It should not be hard to understand it is unsafe for children to have child serving professionals who inappropriately touch children as well as those who “see no red flags” in inappropriately touching children. It is clear that child safety should be paramount. #ChildrenMatter
My latest column: No one is going to shed a tear for Superintendent Peters right now. He's got a lot of work to do to win back the Providence community. https://t.co/WceHYG4DDM
