Would be interesting to know who owns the real estate occupied by these “businesses”…especially the ones with multiple daycares. Property owners typically review the credit of their tenants…My guess is there are some innocent slumlords, but surely in many cases another level of fraud is yet to be uncovered. This is where it will be interesting…Are the rents paid market? What are the buildings valued at on tax rolls? Is depreciation being used to offset business income taxes of related entities?
