I'm absolutely devastated to see this. I can't tell you how many times I was out on a Saturday night to go and see the Tatts. The band was a huge part of my youth and brings back many great memories of good times seeing them at multiple venues around Melbourne. RIP Angry. 💜💜💜
High in the verdant hills of Cantabria, Spain, the Altamira Cave stands as a monument to a distant world—a sanctuary of art and survival forged by the Magdalenian people, who lived here between 36,000 and 14,000 years ago. These early humans were among the last hunter-gatherers of the Upper Paleolithic, braving glacial winds and harsh climates in pursuit of survival. Drawn to the region by its abundant game and sheltered terrain, they made their home in the caves that dotted the landscape, including Altamira, which provided both refuge and a sacred space. Over thousands of years, the cave became a canvas for their lives, its dark chambers illuminated by flickering firelight as they painted vibrant scenes of bison, deer, and horses. Using ochre, charcoal, and manganese, they infused their subjects with motion and spirit, employing the cave’s natural contours to give the animals depth and vitality. These works were not mere decoration but acts of reverence, believed to summon the strength of the creatures they hunted and to ensure the cycles of life that sustained them.
Altamira’s brilliance, however, was destined to fade from memory. By around 14,000 years ago, as the glaciers retreated and the climate shifted, the Magdalenian people moved on, leaving behind their painted legacy. The cave fell into obscurity until its rediscovery in 1868, when a hunter stumbled upon its hidden entrance. Initially dismissed as a hoax, the paintings gained recognition after the tireless advocacy of Marcelino Sanz de Sautuola, an amateur archaeologist whose young daughter first marveled at the vibrant ceiling frescoes. Dubbed the “Sistine Chapel of Prehistory,” Altamira became a beacon for scholars and romantics alike, drawn to its haunting beauty and the stories it told of an ancient world. Over time, the delicate art began to suffer from exposure, prompting the cave’s closure to preserve its treasures. Today, replicas of its magnificent paintings allow visitors to glimpse the ingenuity and spirit of a people who bridged the gap between survival and transcendence, crafting a legacy that endures in the silent depths of stone and time.

Can you believe this shit is happening in America?? When a government agent, whose job is to protect Americans shoots an innocent woman point blank in the head who was being nice, said that's okay dude, I'm not mad at you and who is attempting to move her car? Fascism is alive.
