This month, we're excited to be kicking off our new monthly SHARK newsletter - "Shark Tank: Staying Anchored at Home." This newsletter is designed to support students and families both at home and at school.
On Wednesday, students celebrated their artwork at a Winter Pop-Up Gallery in the Pit, curated by Ms. Filardo. Students in grades K–8 proudly displayed their beautiful work across a wide variety of styles and mediums.
Zuzu African Acrobats perform at our school for Black History month. The Zuzu African Acrobats are a dynamic, highly skilled acrobatic troupe hailing from East Africa, specifically Tanzania, known for their fast-paced performances.
PS 175 - The City Island School represented District 11 at the Future City Regional Competition on Saturday, January 17, at Columbia Secondary School in Manhattan.
The first half of our school year has been incredible, with so many highlights to celebrate.

Prek 3 and 4 had a visit from the Arborists of the Bronx Borough Parks and Recreation. This visit complimented our tree unit learning about branches , leaves and tree ages. We loved watching the bucket and how they trim trees.

Our Soap Box Derby Team represented PS 175 @ District 11 Soap Box Derby on 5/3/25 We had 3 cars race & although they did not end up winning the race, they were certainly all WINNERS! Their teamwork, dedication, good sportsmanship & positive attitude were all on display & shined!
Our Middle school girls team won the borough wide Minecraft challenge today and will be competing in the NYC finals on May 31st!!! CONGRATULATIONS SHARKS!!!
