Mashujaa Day provides an opportunity to honour the courage, sacrifice and contribution of Kenya’s heroes and heroines, while reflecting on the progress we are making as a nation.
I graciously joined H.E. President @WilliamsRuto during the 63rd Mashujaa Day celebrations, jointly hosted by Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, under the theme “Security, Sports and Economy.”
The President outlined key proposals aimed at easing the cost of living and expanding opportunities for Kenyans. These include exempting Kenyans earning KSh 32,333 or less per month from PAYE, exempting land and property transactions valued at KSh 1 million or less from stamp duty, and abolishing the 25% import duty on imported mobile phones to make digital devices more accessible.
The Government also plans to expand the Public Service Internship Programme to accommodate 50,000 young Kenyans, providing more opportunities for young people to gain practical work experience, develop their skills and transition into employment.
As we celebrate this important national day, I wish all Kenyans a happy and blessed Mashujaa Day. May we continue to honour the spirit of our heroes and heroines by working together to build a stronger, more prosperous and united Kenya.

IN MEMORIAM: MZEE KATOI KAHINDI MLANDA ❤️🕊️
20th October 2022 is the day our beloved father, our hero, Mzee Katoi Kahindi Mlanda was called to glory at the age of 82.
As the nation celebrates Mashujaa Day today, our family remembers with deep gratitude the life and legacy of a man who was our pillar of strength, our source of inspiration, and our unwavering support system. He was always there for each and every one of us and was happy to see us succeed.
Today, on the fourth anniversary of his passing, we celebrate a remarkable father who believed in the value of my dreams and those of my siblings. He supported us in every sense of the word and found joy in seeing us succeed. His faith in us gave us the courage to dream, the strength to persevere, and the determination to achieve our goals.
Though you are no longer physically with us, Dad, your values continue to guide us, and your legacy lives on through the lives you touched and the principles you instilled in us. We remain committed to honouring your memory by championing education in our communities, promoting peace, and empowering future generations.
Your life was a blessing and your legacy will live on forever. Happy heavenly anniversary, Mzee Katoi Kahindi Mlanda.
