🇵🇸 Gaza Municipalities Warn of “Most Dangerous Environmental Disaster in History”
Gaza’s municipal union and environmental authorities marked World Environment Day on Saturday from inside a waste dump in central Gaza City, warning of a full-scale health and environmental catastrophe with risks from environmental and groundwater contamination threatening more than 2 million Palestinians, Palestine Online reported.
🔸 Waste crisis
▪️ 380,000 cubic meters of waste accumulated at the Firas landfill over two years
▪️ Israel has blocked access to the main landfill at Juhr al-Dik, forcing garbage into residential areas
▪️ Rodents and insects spreading through displacement sites; sewage flowing into streets and toward the sea
🔸 Water and sanitation collapse
▪️ 80% of water infrastructure destroyed or damaged — available water down to less than 20% of pre-war levels
▪️ An estimated 320,000 sewage absorption pits now threatening soil and groundwater, with contamination risks expected to persist for years
🔸 Scale of destruction
▪️ 80% of buildings and facilities damaged or destroyed
▪️ 57+ million tonnes of rubble scattered across residential areas and camps

This is the issue of our times. Trump's wars, Western support for genocide in the Middle East. We need proper opposition to the militarisation of society and the establishment’s support for war.

Israel, which would never bomb a hospital in Gaza, bombed more hospitals in Lebanon.
Remember when Israel bombed the first hospital in Gaza and the world wouldn't believe it and Israel blamed a misfired rocket from Hamas. Israel has destroyed all hospitals in Gaza.
Now Israel bombs Lebanon's hospitals and doesn't even need to pretend there's a military rationale or a misfired rocket.

Tebnin Government Hospital is a highly important facility as it serves as the last operational frontline medical facility and busiest trauma center in southern Lebanon.
Situated south of the Litani River, it has become a critical lifeline for civilians, thousands of displaced individuals, and casualties of the escalating border conflict.
EI reports Israel is signaling a potential attack on the hospital on baseless charges that echo some of the claims used to destroy hospitals in Gaza.
UK Palestine Solidarity Campaign demands end to West Bank property exhibition in London
——
The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has launched an urgent appeal to British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, demanding the immediate cancellation of a London real estate exhibition scheduled for later this month. The group says that the Great Israeli Real Estate Event 2026 facilitates the sale of properties within illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
PSC is calling on the UK government to block the exhibition and initiate criminal proceedings against its organizers, arguing that allowing the event to proceed directly violates international law and Britain's own stated foreign policy.
Organized by the company My Home in Israel, the event is part of an international series targeting overseas Jewish communities by connecting prospective buyers with developers and financial institutions. Promotional material for the London exhibition explicitly invites registrants to select areas of interest that include Gush Etzion, a massive settlement bloc built on Palestinian land stolen in 1967.
Under international frameworks, including the Fourth Geneva Convention and the United Nations, all Israeli settlements in the West Bank are classified as strictly illegal, a stance the British government officially maintains but rarely enforces through domestic legal action.
The group has warned that hosting such exhibitions provides a veneer of legitimacy to accelerating West Bank annexation and rampant settler violence, causing deep psychological harm to Palestinian refugees living in the UK whose own family lands are being commercialized.

🟡 Hezbollah member of Lebanese parliament Ibrahim Al Moussawi says it is “highly likely” that Iran will soon declare all of southern Lebanon as under its protection where any new Israeli attack will result in Iranian attacks on Israel. It has already done so with Beirut.
He also pushed back heavily against Lebanese President Aoun's assertions that Iran was using Lebanon as leverage in its broader geopolitical standoff with Washington. “Iran is helping Lebanon. Lebanon is not in a place to help Iran anymore,” he said.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has launched a campaign urging British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to stop a property exhibition event due to take place in London later this month, arguing that it facilitates the sale of homes in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are considered illegal under international law, including by the UN and the British government, which regards them as an obstacle to peace and a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
PSC said the UK government has failed to uphold international law, and contradicts its own position affirming that settlements are illegal.
PSC told The New Arab: "Any other event in which stolen goods were being advertised for sale would not only be prohibited, it would be investigated by the police to establish the networks involved in the sale of stolen goods and to take further action as appropriate".
The event forms part of a wider international series aimed largely at Jewish communities overseas, connecting attendees with developers, estate agents and financial institutions operating in Israel.
On 14 June the ‘Great Israeli Real Estate Event’ is to be held in London - selling stolen Palestinian land including in settlements in the occupied territories which are illegal.
