@whateverkc22 I have a very similar story regarding my Dad, who was a Lt in the Army Air Corps in WWII. I think many of the troops internalized or repressed the horrors that they experienced. My Dad seldom told any but a few nondescript stories of his 2.5 yrs in Europe.
