@ImGinnyRobinson Even the hip hop world isn’t buying the mainstream narrative. If anyone hasn’t seen this absolutely savage rap song by Postkrypt yet, it’s worth watching.

@WesleyLHuff naturally place the physical composition of much of Scripture in that post-exilic era—regardless of when the original date of composition. In that light, it’s not unusual that 1 Enoch, like other writings, would only have manuscript evidence from the later period 2/2
@WesleyLHuff I appreciate your thoughts on 1 Enoch. One thing to consider is the episode recorded in 2 Esdras 14, where YHWH commands Ezra to restore the Scriptures after they were destroyed. According to that account, all the sacred writings were dictated anew in Ezra’s day, which would 1/2
@STL_Encore I record and publish music, not as something I'm trying to pursue in any real sense, but just as something I've always enjoyed. I also enjoy photography and sketching, both just as hobbies I do from time to time.
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz The Way never left Torah—they were outlawed, hunted, and persecuted by the new Roman religion after refusing to conform. 2/2
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz Right. “Yeshua” is Jesus’ name in Hebrew—used by first-century believers and still today. You’re right: the 4th-century Rabbinic calendar departed from the Torah-based method of sighted moons and Aviv barley—just as Rome later replaced it with Easter. 1/
@Jameswriter371 Oh!!! Great question!
So, The Space Trilogy by C. S. Lewis made me say, "I didn't know stories could do that," leaving me in absolute awe.
The Gunslinger by Stephen King made me say "That was so cool is some ways, but I would have done it differently..." then I did : )
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz The inaccuracies happened after the fall of the Temple, after Yeshua's time. Returning to accuracy means returning to the way YHWH laid out for all generations in his word, not moving to a new Roman or Rabbinic system, which came later. Easter is nowhere near Biblical.
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz The issue isn’t “Jewish” vs. “Christian.” Again I appreciate your sincerity, but you're not quite right. In Yeshua’s day, the calendar was still Torah-based: new moon sightings and Aviv barley—not fixed calculations. The Way followed this. The real drift happened later. /1
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz That’s not quite accurate. In Yeshua’s day, the calendar was still observational—new moon sightings + Aviv barley. What came later was the drift. The issue isn’t “Jewish” vs. “Christian” but Torah-based vs. man-made. The Way followed what YHWH established, not tradition.
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz In Yeshua’s time, Pesach (Passover) was based on sighted new moons and ripened barley—a manual, observational method commanded by YHWH in Torah and observed by Yeshua and The Way, not later inaccurate Rabbinic or Roman systems (i.e. Council of Nicea/Easter)
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz Yes... but now you're just arguing with Constantine. Current formula was established to ensure it never actually falls on Passover—seemingly to avoid accidentally falling on YHWH's day (Pesach), but his stated reason is hatred for the Jews, so take your pick. Neither one is good.
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz Reason 4: To establish a FIXED date by separating the celebration from YHWH's fluctuating calendar (based on the lunar calendar and observation of the Aviv moon).
"Let us then have nothing in common with the most hostile rabble of the Jews."
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz Reason 3: A more “proper” and “fitting” celebration
"...it is our duty to have nothing in common with the murderers of our Lord."
Constantine argued it was more fitting and noble for Christians to establish their own date instead of the date perscribed by YHWH forever.
@noah_nonsense@JakeDoberenz Or—and hear me out—it COULD suggest that I’m referencing the letter from Constantine to the Churches regarding Easter. Do you have any thoughts on it? Have you read the book of Romans, particularly Ch.11 and 12? The book of Hosea? None of these are hidden from you, brother.
