The graphical stylings for this are the absolute best looking on the Switch for mainline Pokemon.

The follow mechanic made this game top tier.

HOWEVER...

The co-op battle system was backwards?
The story didn't make sense because Gen 1 already happened?

This was the last complete Pokemon game where you could capture them all in the game itself and complete the "National Pokedex".

I really enjoyed the twist at the end where the Jelly monster took over Lasumane, and I genuinely think that it should've been kept for US and UM.

Outside of that, there is almost no other reason to play the OG Sun and Moon games, by comparison.

I loved X and Y but the friendship circle in the game had to be the most annoying of any game.

Constantly getting to a new area and having to wait for one of my friends to come up and tell me some BS before I could just explore and get on with the game was agonizing.
