Psychiatrists are in no position to claim #ECT is safe or effective. Their knowledge of its basics is sorely lacking. They typically don't understand the laws of electricity. They are operators who set knobs & push buttons without understanding the ramifications of what they do.

'Modern' #ECT is just as bad as the old style where patients writhed and convulsed. While anaesthetics and paralysing drugs sanitise the torture so it doesn't look so barbaric, brain damage is still being inflicted as far more electricity is being applied to induce a seizure.

Outside of the Maudsley Hospital again yesterday, one of the sites in the UK where #ECT takes place. We commonly hear, "I didn't think they do that [ECT] any more." Yes, psychiatrists still do it, while also inflicting brain damage. That's why we continue to expose this assault.
