Happy Birthday to my favorite game of all time! Halo: Combat Evolved is the best to ever do it. It has all my favorites from the Halo series:
-Gameplay (MA5B AR and CE Elites, my beloved)
-Campaign
-Multiplayer
-Music
-Art Direction
-Mods via Custom Edition
To another 24 years!
We are NOT doing revisionism on Guardians in this household.
Guardians monetized:
Emblems, Helmets, Armors, Visors, Stances, and Weapon Skins. ALL of customization beside color was monetized.
And let's mention WARZONE, where Req Pack buying was literally pay to win
@32nds Damn, guess I have to be one of the badgers that disagrees now lol
The CE and Infinite designs are still my personal favorites. I just have a huge preference for those designs over the 4 & 5 ones.
The only way to reliably and easily play the og games, and this is how they’re being maintained/preserved; Cheaters being allowed to run rampant
Thank you Microsoft/Xbox/343!
Infinite launched bare bones and they spent the next 2 years adding fuckall and by Year 3 they cancelled a ton of future content. I wonder why they didn't sell well.
@RubyofBlue I find them to be an improvement from H2 brutes. They just don't feel quite as fun to fight as Elites in the previous 2 games.
I think that's partially to do with their behaviour acting different, as well as their shields/armor being one & done instead of recharging.
I'm not a Halo fan but I feel something in me stir when people start complaining about Halo fans criticising the sprint mechanic.
I feel like we're seeing these games less like art now and more like just... content. More content gets released. Content for everyone else.
It might go without saying, but I REALLY dislike the effect both Sprint and ADS seems to be having on CE's gameplay.
Watching people play, these mechanics together are HEAVILY pushing players into a slow "stop and go" playstyle, rather than running and gunning being married.
