Bad batch had mutations that made them different from rank and file but not useless and it’s a fan theory that 99 actually has a mutation as well in his memory that makes him valuable in logistics. It’s why he had a janitorial role. Also Omega was created because she was the solution to the deteriorating genetic material for making new clones. A clone with a mental impairment would either be cast out or killed as them being trans serves no purpose in lore.
@hairydyk@sh4rkf1n0@LiteralMem3s One is a woman who likes women and the other is just a guy playing dress up. A lesbian is a woman who only has romantic feelings for other women not a man pretending to be one.
But if we are adding those on then Jaune, Ren and Nora now have the shared trauma of one of their own dying against Cinder, much more traumatic for Jaune but traumatic for the group nonetheless. And now are also hooked into a war they not only want to survive but also defeat Salem.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Okay then tell me the goals of team RWBY because aside from Weiss a bit all their goals are pretty vague or nonexistent
Yeah and you say the goals of JNPR are vague? Ren wants to avenge his parents and village while also protecting his newfound family and Nora. Done one and still working on the other. Pyrrha just wanted to make genuine connection with people who didn’t see her for her title so she accomplished her goal and Jaune wants to live up to his families legacy of heroes and prove he has what it takes.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Because people typically write more about a character they see more of in a show than one they don’t. Ren and Nora usually don’t get much screentime by themselves and are sharing it majority of the time.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Most of the characters have no stories save for the four the show is named after. I didn’t move any goalpost since you are the one who brought up said stories.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa That’s because they are the focus and got prologues for each of them. Doesn’t mean their stories are good. The only one in RWBY with any uniqueness about her is Blake and that’s because she also has the whole being a Faunus and hiding it thing so she isn’t singled out by humans.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Her emotional engine only came into play towards the end and after she left the white fang. And a survival story of two orphans with nothing but each other isn’t anything to write off.
None of those works as their conflicts with their families in those shows makes the family out to be the antagonists in some ways. Blake is rebellious teenager, Weiss is stuck up heiress with divided family, Yang is dead step mother and real mother who walked out on her and Ruby is just dead mother she hardly knew because she was so young but is hunted because of genetics.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa RWBY aren’t as open ended as you want them to be as their relevancy is literally dependent on the actions and history of their parents and not just themselves as characters
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa I never said Blake has potential but her potential is limited to actions with the White Fang and Adam while Nora’s and Ren’s is more open ended
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa All of RWBY’s potential is dealing with family problems. And fanfic writers can bring out potential in characters the main show hasn’t or rather didn’t want to see. Just because it isn’t popular with Nora or Ren or even them combined doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Weiss changed minutely and it was only her opening up to her team. Compared to JNPR who literally had one of their members die that’s a low bar.
@JacobJacks62152@YoungKaiser3@Kamelaasa Nora and Ren have traveled Remnant since they were orphaned by the loss of their village. Out of all the characters save for maybe Blake they are the most well traveled and that alone has potential especially with Nora’s personality to jump into situations.
RWBY literally had no potential character wise as they didn’t change at all throughout the whole show. Aesthetically they changed a bit but personality wise? Nothing, I expected Yang to have some more trauma and maybe even fear of Adam from getting her arm taken off but nope. The. There is the team itself and how they are basically just given a free pass for stupidity without consequence.
@oscarmatino131@TheOnlyDespot2@FakeTaxedBrass Zombies don’t have self preservation as well so it would just die on the wall trying to get to the target in its direct line of sight which is the two for one deal.
You forget Ren and Nora have an entire childhood of being orphans basically roaming around remnant who could have met many interesting people. And Pyrrha’s death had a purpose as it propelled Jaune as a character. No one in RWBY has suffered as much loss as the three remaining from JNPR
