The #IPU mourns the passing of @AnnClwyd, a longstanding IPU champion including as President of the IPU Committee on the #HumanRights of MPs. Her unwavering voice provided comfort to #MPs in danger worldwide and helped strengthen accountability for abuses wherever they occurred.

At our @UN Headquarters in New York, we can feel the deteriorating air quality as smoke from the wildfires in Canada moves south.

With global temperatures on the rise, the need to urgently reduce wildfire risk is critical.

We must make peace with nature. We cannot give up.
