I’m curious if @michaeljburry has used Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to code anything. Given the asymmetry of real-world/enterprise usefulness between coding and everything else (for now) I think it could potentially adjust his views. Maybe I am ill-informed and he believes in the tech, just not the CAPEX.
For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

@a5_kim It’s a little weird seeing my transaction notifications mixed in with post notifications. Not an issue if I can access it in the standalone app as well similar to x chat
It’s a very different experience than SOL or Fable. There is a lot more back and forth as it’s much quicker. So it gets things wrong, but with your feedback, it usually gets where it needs to go quicker overall just with more active iterating. It is underpowered for certain things, but I’ve found it useful so far.
@thsottiaux As a hobbiest, it’s SO much better. Instead of using my limit, waiting 4 hours and coming back, I can just have longer sessions throughout the week. If I blow through it all early, I mean that’s what credits are for…
5.6 Sol is unbelievable. I’m a guy who used to code as a kid and took a different career path once I got to college. With Codex, I’ve now revived and started several projects I had previously worked on and built things I certainly did not have the technical capability to build by myself. In 1/100 the time… I’ve added graphics to text based games I built when I was 12, I’ve updated old games and updated firebase integrations that I would have had to learned how to do due to my 5 year hiatus from coding. Truly unbelievable. I’ve also learned how to use Dart and Flutter by having it hold my hand, though that was with 5.5. Plan mode is my favorite at this point. I can just work vomit into it, answer a few questions, then get halfway where I want right off the bat. Plus then Tibo resets my usage anyway!
