So if there’s any SPTs who lost time on their OP clinicals and want some extra practice, I wrote up 3 “case studies” that I’m going to be emailing out tomorrow. Basically, im trying to create a ‘virtual clinical’ and engage via email chain.
DM me your email and I’ll add you in.
Watching Forrest Gump for the first time and annoying my family by analyzing young Forrest’s gait pattern and potential diagnoses. #ThatGaitPatternThough
Can i be honest ?? I thought I would prefer wearing scrubs to work every day.... but this whole business casual dress code is right up my ally 😅 i get excited to pick my outfits every day and show off my little style lol
I cannot contain my excitement that #APTACSM is THIS WEEK!! 😍 Not only am I ready to see my #PTfam but I’m also on the job hunt for when I finish residency this Summer 🧠☀️#neuronerd#hireme Biggest question: where should I move??
PT is a doctoral profession, not a technical one. If you merely want to learn protocols/algorithms, that era of PT is gone. If you ALSO want to know 'why', can deal with the "gray", and are open to reflective practice, you can become a highly-valued physical therapist. @APTAcsm
Due to APTA’s extensive advocacy efforts, the NCCI contractor has notified APTA that CMS will resolve the CPT coding change that prevented certain eval and activity codes from being furnished and billed on the same day for same patient. CMS to provide further details. Stay tuned!
Talked to a PT student today. Said her CI and her had 4 patients at the same time for an hour. Billing was done as 4 timed units/patient. No group.
If we want to fix our professional issues, we’re gonna have to take a damn hard look in the mirror. #QualityOverQuantity
Lesson of the day:
Don’t introduce yourself as JUST a student when doing an initial eval if you want your patient to be confident in their care.
I am a PT Student. Period. No “Just”
Finding it really hard to believe that I only have 2 weeks left of my second clinical. I know I still have so much to learn, but I’ve been feeling really independent and confident lately when I walk into patient rooms - and goodness that is such a good feeling! 🥳 #DPTstudent
It has been amazing to me the mental and physical exhaustion that has come with my current clinical rotation. It’s not just working 40 hours a week. There is continuously learning during and outside clinical. My brain never stops. I love it but man, it can be a lot. 🤯😅🧠
Me: I need coffee.
My brain: You need sleep.
Me: Coffee sounds good.
My brain: Eat a vegetable.
Me: I wonder if we have some coffee.
My brain: You should go exercise.
Me: Ah, great. A Starbucks.
My brain: 😖
