@nick_restall @Tush27J after the Duke of Clarence but couldn't. The MOD wasn't to get it fully in the 1970-1980 but were rejected. Charles wants to rent it out - like he does with much of the crown estate. But it was rejected. It is too close to Sandhurst.

@nick_restall @Tush27J Charles and the MOD have wanted Bagshot for years. It is near Sandhurst and the MOD wanted the estates to give it - no purchase to them. There is a lot of politics about that estate since 1900. The Yorks (George and Elizabeth) were due to take it

@Tush27J Either way Main house has less then 10 and gate about 8-6. The press has been using a figure that is outdated for years - from when it was a hunting retreat from King James. Even when Main house was used by the Royal chaplains they could only house 10.

@Tush27J They don't. It is very misleading. The estate has several houses on it - most are in a state of disuse. Only 3 houses were renovated in 1998. The main house, stables and gate house. It is presumed they stay in Main House. But they might be in Gate.
