🇺🇸🏈 TIM TEBOW
THE DOCTORS SAID TO END THE PREGNANCY.
HERE'S WHAT THAT BABY DID 👇
January 8, 2012. Denver.
Overtime, in a playoff game nobody gave the Broncos a chance to win. First play. The quarterback everyone swore "couldn't throw" fires a strike. 80 yards. TOUCHDOWN. Game over.
And then, in living rooms across America, people started noticing the numbers.
He threw for exactly 316 yards.
He averaged exactly 31.6 yards per completion. An NFL playoff record.
The TV rating peaked at exactly 31.6.
And three years earlier, TO THE DAY, on January 8, 2009, this same man had won a national championship with three words painted under his eyes:
JOHN 3:16.
I'm not going to tell you it was a miracle. I checked these numbers three times because I didn't believe them either. They're real. All of them.
But to understand that night, you have to go back to a hospital room on the other side of the world. Because this man's life has been defying the numbers since before he was born.
The Philippines. 1987.
An American missionary couple, Bob and Pam, serving in villages far from home. Pam is pregnant with their fifth child when she contracts a severe infection. She falls into a coma. The drugs needed to save her life are poison to the baby.
The doctors are blunt. The baby will not survive. He will be stillborn. To protect the mother's life, they advise ending the pregnancy.
Pam says no.
She nearly loses the baby four times. She spends the last two months of the pregnancy in bed, praying one prayer with her husband: if You give us a son, we will name him Timothy, and we will raise him to serve You.
August 14, 1987. A baby boy is born. Malnourished. Tiny.
Alive.
They named him Timothy.
The family came home to Jacksonville, Florida. Five kids. Homeschooled around the kitchen table. No football powerhouse academy. No pipeline. Just a mom who once refused to give up on him, teaching him fractions.
In high school, playing on a Florida law that let homeschool kids join public school teams, the boy became a monster. One night he broke his leg mid-game. He didn't tell anyone how bad it was. He played the entire second half on a broken fibula and scored a touchdown running on it.
Colleges lost their minds. He chose Florida.
2006: national champion.
2007: the Heisman Trophy. The FIRST SOPHOMORE IN HISTORY to win it. Not one of the first. THE first. Ever.
2008: national champion again.
And in the 2009 title game, he painted JOHN 3:16 under his eyes. That night, more than 90 million people googled the verse.
Ninety. Million.
The NCAA later banned messages on eye black. Reporters called it the Tebow Rule. Think about that. They rewrote the rulebook because of what one man wrote under his eyes.
Then came the NFL, and with it, the mockery.
Can't throw. Wrong mechanics. A charity case. And above all, the thing that really seemed to bother people: he kept kneeling. In prayer. On the field. In front of everyone.
They turned his prayer into a joke. "Tebowing." Late night sketches. Halloween costumes. Millions of people dropping to one knee to make fun of him.
Here's the thing about mocking a man by imitating his prayer, though. You're still kneeling.
He never fired back. Never lashed out. He just kept winning.
2011: he inherits a 1-4 team. Comeback after impossible comeback. The Broncos win the division. And then, on January 8, 2012, in the playoffs, against one of the greatest defenses in football, he throws for
316 yards.
31.6 per completion.
Ratings: 31.6.
Three years to the day after 90 million people googled John 3:16, America googled it again. Number one search in the world by morning.
Laugh at him now.
But football is not the story. Football was never the story.
Because the NFL did move on. A legend took his job. He got traded, cut, cut again. By his late twenties, the experts declared him finished, and this time they were right. His football career was over.
They thought that would break him. They didn't understand what he was built from.
At 29, having not swung a bat since high school, he walked into professional baseball. First game in the instructional league. First pitch he saw.
HOME RUN.
I am not making that up either.
But even baseball is not the story. Here is the story.
While America argued about his throwing motion, this man was quietly building something.
Every February, on the Friday before Valentine's Day, his foundation throws a prom. Not for celebrities. For people with special needs. Red carpet. Limos. Hair and makeup. And at the end of the night, a crown placed on every single head.
It's called Night to Shine.
This year it happened in 975 churches. All 50 states. 74 countries. More than 100,000 guests wearing crowns on the same night.
He says it's not about A-listers. It's about God's VIPs.
He even met his wife through it. A former Miss Universe whose late sister had special needs. They're raising a child of their own now.
And then there's the hospital.
In Davao City, in the Philippines, the same island nation where doctors once said a certain baby would never survive, there stands a children's surgical hospital. It has been open for more than ten years. It straightens the legs of kids whose families could never afford surgery, for free, and asks for nothing back.
The name over the door is TEBOW.
Read that again.
The baby they said would be stillborn went back to the very country where they said it, and built a place where poor children get to live.
Doctors said his life wasn't possible. His mother said yes anyway.
The experts said his career was over. He hit a home run on the next pitch of his life.
The world knelt down to mock him. 100,000 people with special needs now wear crowns because of him.
One mother's yes. That's what all of this cost.
One yes, in a hospital room in 1987, and the ripples are still hitting shores on the other side of the planet.
THE BABY THEY SAID TO LET GO.
THE MAN THEY LOVED TO MOCK.
THE NAME ON A CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. 🇺🇸

Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT) accounts for ~15% of your daily calorie burn. Formal gym workouts account for only ~5%.
Fidgeting, walking the dog, pacing while on the phone, and carrying groceries move the needle far more than a 30-minute run.
Instead of obsessing over the gym, focus on living an active lifestyle.

Friends! Baby Dog seems back to his normal self and Playtime ensued with the Triplets. PLEASE NOTE! I have successfully taught Ron to do a Rolly-Polly! It’s not a trick many of us cats do, and I’m a bit old to do it now, but I used to be famous for my Rolly-Pollys. I’m glad that Ron will carry on the tradition!
Finally cooperated for a #jellybellyfriday Look at all this floof! We are enjoying the air conditioning, as it's almost 100 degrees (F) outside and humid! Stay cool everyone #friday#fluffy
Okay, friends.
Our Office of Community Engagement recently started a patch wall at the department. They messaged many agencies across the country for a patch, but they only got a few back.
With that being said, the social team got wind of this, and we want to make this blow up!
Tag your local police department, or any for that matter, and share, please! (Brownie points for international agencies.)
✉️ They can be mailed to:

Just to make you all aware of a crime you may be committing without even knowing it.
When a dog or cat stretches, you must look at them and say, "oooooooo, biggggg strechhhhhh".
Going to the gym for 60 minutes doesn’t fix sitting at a desk for 8 hours. Science calls it the "Active Couch Potato" effect. Your metabolism stays sluggish if you only move in one isolated chunk.
The real fix? 2-minute movement snacks every hour. Walk, stretch, shake it out.

@japan_nobunaga We live in the South; one winter we had a bad snow and ice storm: roads treacherous, power out for days, freezing cold. But the Waffle House near us was open and we went just to warm up and have a hot meal. It was packed, but they made room for us as we all got warm together
