I honestly forgot when I made them, but it was some time in 2021/2022.
@PikHacker added them to Endless Abyss 2.0 because I never used them for anything and felt like a fun idea.
I want to try and shift up the way I present new features instead of cramming them into a couple minute direct, so each new thing has a little bit more screentime.
Bit of a shift in plans, I was originally going to have a new Puffmin trailer ready two weeks from now to show off a bunch of the new content but that idea has been changed around a bit.
A handful of irl problems came up and I'm currently planning on trying something new out.

How are we feeling with this new sublevel theme? decent? I like it, but let me know if any of you have some thoughts for additional decor.

Several eons later, this map is done and I never have to rework it again!
These two images don't do this map justice but I got to keep some things secret for another couple weeks until a new trailer is made. ๐
Anyways now I get to go work on other stuff...
I swear to god I'm only updating Frosty Flatlands and Sediment Shores just this one last time!
I had a pretty good reason this time around as some new game mechanics were introduced that would make gameplay more engaging and the maps needed to be reworked for it to function.
The hardest part about making a long term story mod for Pikmin 2 is making fully custom Pikmin areas that look authentic.
The second hardest part is making all of them and not wanting to make changes to the oldest ones after you finish newer ones. ๐

I have a squad of 50 Red Pikmin and 50 Blue Pikmin. A vote is held to pick the favorite type of Pikmin.
If more than 50% of people vote for Blue Pikmin, all the Pikmin survive. If less than 50% of people vote for Blue Pikmin, they will be fed to the bulborbs. Who do you vote for?
First cave to have all of its sublevels modeled and in game! Finally get to start doing some enemy design now that I have a place to test them in.
I have a bunch more cave models for other things but they either aren't in game yet or aren't a full cave theme.
More fun with the bog!
I just started adding a bunch of stumps and stole the little yellow pikmin branch for the Volt Puffmin spawn
(why remake an animation when I can just reuse it lol)

I kind of made the levels out of order and I'm currently working backwards now with the 3rd map now that the 4th one is in game.
The plan right now is get the 4 maps into a playable state THEN start adding the playable content.
I spent the weekend fixing some stuff to get the 4th area working again so I could import the level and soon some of the new cave units I've been making.
The canyon that splits this map in two is so much larger than I thought it would be and its awesome!

Someday... someday that demo will get released...
The funny thing is ever since this video released and I missed said deadline I jokingly said that "oh that wasn't talking about this year, it could be the end of another year" lmfao
