As the daughter of formerly undocumented immigrants, my family knows the fear of having a loved one snatched without warning first-hand. My father was taken by ICE in the 1980s when I was just a baby. My mother spent days terrified for his well-being.
Mahmoud Khalil is a green card holder whose wife is a U.S. citizen and 8 months pregnant. The Trump administration offered no serious legal justification for Khalil's detention, instead citing a Trump executive order. We know from history that abuse of detention powers are a hallmark of authoritarian regimes.
Contrary to his own belief, Trump is not a king. His actions are a threat to all of us, even those who disagree with Khalil's speech. I demand the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil.

Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, 11, of Gainesville, Texas, died on 8 February after spending five days in intensive care following an apparent suicide attempt. Her mother, Marbella Carranza, claims relentless bullying by classmates drove her daughter to take her own life. The sixth grader allegedly faced months of harassment, including threats to call Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport her family.
Jocelynn reportedly visited her school counselor weekly to report the bullying, but her mother says she was never informed. Gainesville Intermediate School stated they take bullying seriously & have a zero-tolerance policy, but did not address specific allegations. Local police are investigating the death, while the school district is handling the bullying claims.

Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, digan su nombre. Ella no debió morir, ella no debía tener miedo de perder a su familia.
