@ShuraLynx "He's a horse!"
Brother those aren't even hooves those are abominations, here are what horse hooves look like irl
Why couldn't the animators use ANY reference instead of making a crime against god
@Cheesy_Peezy@nonbinaryfenris@MountainhoodArt as someone who has kept small parrots and known many people who have kept all variety, NONE of them are domesticated and a majority suffer as pets, even in ideal homes
pigeons and chickens are domesticated and usually can be kept content fairly easily, conversely
@Cheesy_Peezy@nonbinaryfenris@MountainhoodArt imo anything that
- is invasive (pythons, quaker parrots)
- has extremely difficult needs (cockatoos)
- is endangered (especially because of the pet trade) (most parrots, most turtles)
- is dangerous to keep (venomous snakes, cockatoos again)
needs SOME kind of control
@Chestnut_champ "that is the horse we are practicing Wellness Through Brain Waves because they're a colic, choke, and laminitis risk who runs through fences if a human being is within twenty feet of it so I'm not sure if you do want it"
@clicker_bitch We're technically not LIMA but we just accrue horses from incompetent homes and prospects who could only find a home with an extremely attentive/ethical/home that's only like 0.1% of horse owners and near impossible to find
@ribbonsinnature@SgtGreen_v2@echetus With respect who the hell told you this lol
The problem with just grass is that it doesn't have all of the minerals they need and it's higher sugar than hay.
Commercial grains are only for mineral supplemention and rarely calories. It's usually what they colic on.
@the_transit_guy Driving in the DFW area is one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life.
And it wasn't just once, it's every time I have to do it. Fuck those spaghetti streets.
@woof_wolfy007@oopsanotherpony What we talked about was amino acid profile determining how much of the protein from a given substance is usable as protein, making protein percent not directly determine protein got.
This is about calories FROM protein, which isn't really the same
@clicker_bitch@woof_wolfy007 This isn't to say R+, feed supplements, hackamores, or grass are "bad things", despite how a lot of traditional people like to spin it using the people who only do halfway horsemanship, it's to say people often WON'T see the whole picture.
@clicker_bitch@woof_wolfy007 Yeah I've noticed many people "paint over" lacking husbandry with something fun they can do on the weekends.
This can be R+, a third joint supplement, using a mechanical hackamore with a chain nose because "bitless is nicer", giving a stalled horse a clump of grass and so on
