@WeNurses Depending on the severity and your confidence I think you should speak to the individual. As you would with another member of staff they are still able to listen and to understand your concern. However some situations may require a different method

@WeNurses Hierarchy always has a slight impact on how we react i believe. I think we sometimes forget that even though an individual may be more senior does not mean they don’t make mistakes or that you have stronger knowledge in an area

@WeNurses Sitting with patients and going through leaflets can be helpful as they can ask questions and make notes to remember things easier. However some patients views don’t fit with the advice so may disagree

@WeNurses For some health conditions we provide advice and information sheets I believe some also provide links to other resources that they can access, this means the information we use in these leaflets and the resources we recommend must be reliable

@WeNurses My first thought is information that has been backed up by evidence, such as a piece of literature that has multiple resources and evidence to back up the reasearch they are conducting and the results they got @WeNurses @Healthinfoweek

@WeNurses Family-centred care is also crucial, a patient had just been diagnosed with diabetes they were young and the nurse had been administering his insulin and mum had been watching. We then encouraged and empower the mother even though scared to complete the next preception herself.
