Yu Menglong is reported to have fallen from Building 18 of the Sunshine Upper East Residential Complex in Chaoyang District, where he lived.
Images circulating online show that the window safety net at the apartment involved in the incident had indeed come loose.
An employee of the Sunshine Upper East Property Management Company confirmed that someone had indeed fallen from Building 18, "but they were not sure whether it was a celebrity."
